Web development never stands still, and that’s what I love about it. There are always new challenges to overcome, new technologies to learn and new designs to accomplish. It’s a very satisfying area of marketing to work in.
I’ve been developing websites for almost 12 years now and I’m glad to say it’s still as exciting today as it was when I took those first tentative steps into the unknown. Before working at M4M, I started my own web development agency straight out of university, learning the hard way about managing clients, projects, finances and taking ownership of the work you produce.
As Technical Director at M4M, I oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of all our websites, as well as digital advertising and marketing performance reports. I work with the wider team to ensure the website content we produce for our clients is as near perfect as it can be. I push the team to constantly improve our websites from both a technical and content perspective through our innovative website MOTs, a website review developed in-house here at M4M.
M4M pushes and challenges you to develop your knowledge in a positive way. It’s great for someone like me who loves to learn and develop their skills.
It might not be a surprise to hear that a web developer is also a self-confessed nerd outside of work. I’m a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy – be it books, movies, or games. I also follow Formula 1 religiously – go Lando! On top of development work at M4M, I develop and maintain a WordPress plugin in my spare time called WP Persistent Login to help give something back to the WordPress community.
Outside of technology, I enjoy getting away from the world to a cottage or lodge in the middle of nowhere with my girlfriend and two dogs, taking long walks in the day and cosying up by a fire in the evening.
